I have have owned this monitor for 3 months now and I really am impressed by the quality of the image and the general design quality of the monitor. Before moving to this monitor, I was using an IBM ThinkVision, an excellent monitor but a poor value given it’s high cost. Having high expectations and requirements for my next monitor, I considered many monitors, including the Samsung line of Syncmasters before settling on the Dell Monitors. In terms of value and performance, I sincerely feel that this monitor tops out all other monitors.
In terms of display quality, this monitor is superior. I am a graphic artist and have noticed no difference between this monitor and others including the IBM Thinkvision and Samsung Syncmaster. There is no ghosting, the response time is superior, and generally, to even a fairly trained eye, there is nothing better out there in the market.
The build quality of the monitor impressed me as well. The monitor is slim, very sturdy, and just gives off an aura of quality. The buttons are tight and the swivel is firm. Dell definitely had the user in mind with a convenient USB hub.
Overall, this monitor is a superb buy and I strongly recommend it.
The most important part of a monitor is its screen, and this monitor does not disappoint. Colors are rich and text is sharp even through the analog input. Great response time and acceptable viewing angle. It’s very bright – it lets you adjust the brightness from 0 to 100 and I have mine on 60 and it’s still as many photons as my poor eyes can take (70 would be brighter than any laptop). I like the modern look of the monitor, and the USB hub is nice and unobtrusive. The base is sturdy and weighty, and has a nice little rubber sleeve to keep your cables together. The 3-prong power cord plugs directly into the monitor, no brick necessary. The menu is easy to use and offers enough configuration options.
The main problem with this monitor is that the mechanisms by which it raises/lowers, swivels, and pivots are a bit “sticky.” You’ll try to raise it an inch, and it won’t budge, so you’ll apply more and more pressure until it finally lurches a half foot upward. And the same problem going down. Also, the screen rotation pivot doesn’t “lock in” at 90 degree angles – sure it stops rotating, but it’s off by a little bit. To keep the screen perfectly level, you’ll have to use a ruler and measure the distance of both bottom corners to your desk each time you adjust it in any way – otherwise it might be off by 1-2 degrees, which is extremely annoying. (My personal opinion is that it doesn’t make much sense to pivot a 1280×1024 monitor anyway since it’s only a 256 pixel difference.)
It’s a good monitor, especially for the price, but I have to subtract a star for the positioning problems.
I bought 1704fpt to extend my iBook 12″ screen, it is my first LCD monitor. It is quite heavy. The monitor height lock only works on lowest and highest position. But it does not slip down in the middle position. The 4 USB ports hub is useful. The screen is VERY bright and factory default color is not right. I had hard time to calibrate it. Beside that, it is perfect!

It depends on what you want to do with your LCD. If your looking to get more desktop space then the 20" if the you want a bigger view the 22". I have however seen newer 22" with simular specs as the dell ultra sharp 22" ( 1680×1050) compared to the 20" (1600×1200). The 22" has the 5ms response compared to the 16ms for the 20". plus i would rather get the 22" just in case i want to watch a movie. the bigger the screen the better..
1st of all I'm not gay, but I do like to take care of my hair and look good, if any women think that there is something wrong with that, by all means please let me know, I appreciate your honesty.
Do not settle for cheap brands, theres a difference between flat irons. You want the ones that have ceramic plates, the most popular is the CHI and even though they achieve wonderful results, they break down easily and thus ruin your $100 investment. Solia, FHI, and HAI are also good but work differently depending on hair type and are slightly cheaper.
The best flat iron however is the Sedu. It has ceramic plates and uses tourmaline which is a precious stone that gives off negative ions which are good for your hair. Check out Folica.com and see all the before and after pictures….there are about 10 pages of pictures on the 1 1/2" Sedu…or you can go for the 1" inch if you want more control.
However, there is always the GHD with the cheapest at $190….they are excellent but it just depends on if you are willing to spend that much, by the way GHD's are Englands best and most popular iron, and in a few years they will be America's as well.
Chi's break down too much, and if you by them online, their warranty will not be honored….the CHI Turbos are even worse!!!
SEDU is the greatest…if you want proof…go to foica.com and check out the pics of the users that have sent in in the reviews of the 1 1/2' SEDU….you can also go with the 1 inch one if you like…
So at $120 and a great life span….not only SEDU is the best hair straightener as far as results are concerned, it also the best deal….
Hope I've been a great help.
Oh and Sedu work well on black people's hair too, which you stated fall closely around…there are even pics of black ladies who have used it.
I’m sorry Sherri but you can feed your child AND teach them common sense….these things are not mutually exclusive…
about 20 pct per year
I've never heard of a height waiver being given, but I don't guess that means it can't happen. It might take a few weeks if her recruiter has sent one up.

Image via Wikipedia Source: Manchester MULE Two people, including a MULE editor, were detained by anti-terror police at Heathrow Airport on January 6 after they raised objections to a deportation taking place on their flight. The pair, Matthew Taylor and Andrew Bowman, chose to leave the Virgin Atlantic flight for Nairobi in protest, shortly before takeoff. They claim the deportee, whose name is unknown, was being forcibly restrained by several plain clothes immigration officers, and was crying out for help from passengers. Having disembarked, they were held under the Terrorism Act by armed police before being questioned by Special Branch. “The guy was shouting that he would commit suicide if he was sent back to Kenya”, said Bowman, “we took a stand in a peaceful manner, but were treated as if we were trying to blow up the plane.” With the government seeking to increase removals of ‘illegal’ immigrants and failed asylum seekers, commercial airlines are being contracted to carry…

I like that Dell monitor. I've seen many sold at my old part-time job and people love it. The features are good as well, 2m/s response time and 2000:1 contrast (So it has the capability to be really clear and distinct).
Try using a glow around it.
Dell has been offering 24-inch and large LCDs for computers for a long time now. The company has added a new 24-inch LCD to its line called the G2410H 24-inch WLED monitor. The screen features an ambient light sensor for adjusting brightness energy saving modes, and needs under 0.15W of power in sleep mode when using the VGA input. The materials the screen is made from are green with arsenic free glass and no mercury, polyvinyl chloride, or BFRs. Like many of the new 24-inch screen, the G2410H has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 rather than 1920 x 1200 that used to be the default 24-inch LCD resolution. Screen brightness is 250 cd/m2 and the screen has a 1000:1 contrast ratio. The screen supports 16.7 million colors, has a pixel pitch of 0.277mm and connectivity includes VGA and DVI. The monitor is available now for $339. The legs of the table have a nasty habit of getting in the way unless they are on the very end, or eliminated.
Some options would be:
Suspend tables from chains
Table legs consisting of two tubes each, one that fits inside the other. Drill though both tubes, then just lift and slip a pin in place.
Think 'ladders and boards' shelving. Make the legs an open frame with crossbars for the tops to rest in.
Mega-cheat: plain legs and spacer blocks to put under the feet.

Nearly all coil mattresses have what's called a border wire attached to the coils to give edge support. For an adjustable bed you need to find any mattress that does not have a border wire. Also consider foam, memory foam, or latex are all good choices.
